Walker Evergreen Cemetery FAQ:

  1. “To be considered for Walker/Shingobee rates, a person must be a resident of the City of Walker or Shingobee Township, or must have been at one time such a resident who, in the discretion of the Cemetery Board, was a long-time resident who moved for health and/or family reasons.”
  2. Open/Closing. Only the city shall make all openings and closings of graves, and all interments, disinterment, and removals.
  3. A portion of the fees includes a deed to the cemetery lot, granting permission to be buried there. The City Clerk’s Office will record all deeds.
  4. No trees, man-made or man placed items will be allowed to be placed in the Cemetery by individual parties.
  5. The Cemetery Caretaker will be directed to post the entire Cemetery “No Hunting.”
  6. Up to three cremations per lot will be allowed or one body burial plus one cremation per lot will be allowed

Information on Monuments or Markers:

Before a monument, marker or footstones can be placed: a sketch showing all dimensions of the foundation, base, monument, markers or footstones must be mailed, faxed or emailed to the City of Walker for approval:
